A degree built around doing.
The M.Eng is a professional, coursework-based degree designed for students preparing to enter or advance in the computing industry.
Students choose between two curriculum paths:
Project Enhanced
Combine advanced graduate electives with a 3 credit capstone project for a flexible mix of technical depth and applied experience. Allows for fall or spring entry-term options.
Project Intensive
Complete a deeper, two-semester, 12 credit integrated project experience focused on technical development, teamwork, project management, and professional practice. Only allows for fall entry-term option.
Both options are part of a 30-credit, non-thesis degree. (Refer to the graduate student policy manual for coursework restrictions and more information)
Go deep where it matters to you.
Most students choose a focus area to build a clear technical direction, while the curriculum also allows students to mix and match electives to create a more tailored path.
Current focus areas include:
Wireless Communications, Networking & Cybersecurity
Learn to design, analyze, and secure modern communication and networking systems, from wireless transmission and network architecture to information security and connected technologies such as 5G/6G, IoT, and autonomous systems.
Integrated Circuits & Systems
Develop expertise in electronic circuits and hardware systems, including analog and digital design, semiconductor devices, VLSI systems, embedded hardware, and system-level integration.
Machine Learning, Data Science & Autonomy
Build intelligent systems that can analyze data, learn from experience, and make decisions through coursework in machine learning, optimization, sensing, control, and autonomous systems.
Students may also customize their elective mix based on their interests and career goals.
